Traditional graduation returns to Millbrook

Millbrook High School is back to hosting a traditional graduation ceremony this year for the Class of 2022.

The ceremony will take place at the high school’s Athletic Complex on Friday, June 24, at 7 p.m. A live video option will be available for the 72 graduates’ friends and family members that cannot attend in person.

MHS Principal Eric Seipp said a guest speaker is being determined at this time.

While students have lost a lot over the last two years, they have also overcome many obstacles and emerged stronger due to COVID-19. Seipp is happy the class will have a graduation free of COVID restrictions and precautions. Many of them will also be able to attend a senior trip to Walt Disney World from May 16 to 19, an opportunity not afforded in 2020 and 2021.

“They’re going to be able to enjoy the experience,” Seipp said. “They all deserve it.”

Last year’s ceremony saw 77 students graduate.
