Welcome to the MMS Counseling Office

School counselors are involved with counseling, coordination and consulting among administration, staff, parents, students, and the community. We support students in attaining social, academic and personal goals.  We help parents/guardians understand school requirements and act as an advocate for students. At the middle school level, counselors work with students individually and in groups to address topics such as study skills, social skills, and self-concept. Counselors also help coordinate services in conjunction with the school psychologist and Committee on Special Education for students with disabilities. We encourage parent/guardian involvement and work together with parents and students to give every child the best opportunity for success.

    Helpful Information

A Referral List is available under the Guidance Forms and Publications heading and provides a list of numerous community resources for any family who needs help from an outside agency.  Please browse this list for help with emergency financial assistance, mental health issues, domestic abuse assistance, substance abuse help, eating disorders, or referral to an outside therapist.  We are very fortunate in Dutchess County to have a variety of agencies to help with our every need.

A course description guide is available by clicking here. This guide includes all course offerings at MMS. Please note that these offerings may vary slightly year to year.
